Nine Phase Expansion of LA Metro Rail

Phase 00:
Existing System (including Expo Phase I and Gold Line Eastern Extension).



Phase 01:
(a) Extend the Red Line from Hollywood/Highland to Santa Monica (double tunneling)

(b) Expo Phase II from Culver City to UCLA via Sepulveda and Westwood Blvds.

(c) Realignment of the Green Line to LAX



Phase 02:
Purple Line under Wilshire Blvd.



Phase 03:
Extend the Red Line from Santa Monica to LAX (double tunneling)



Phase 04:
(a) Widen the tunnel under Hollywood Blvd.

(b) Redesignate route from North Hollywood to Hollywood/Western as the Orange Line.

(c) Extend the Orange Line from Hollywood/Western to Glendale (with double tunneling between Hollywood/Western and Hollywood/Vermont.

(d) Create the Silver Line light rail from Lake Station to Glendale.



Phase 05:
(a) Create the Yellow Line using (i) new tunnel connecting Fairfax/Wilshire and Fairfax/Santa Monica stations and (ii) existing Red Line tunnel from Fairfax/Santa Monica to Vermont/Western.

(b) Re-route the Red Line (i) through Hollywood/Vermont station and (ii) through new (double) tunnel under Sunset Blvd. through Silverlake/Echo Park (iii) with a local branch to the Downtown stations and (iv) an express branch to Union Station.

(c) Begin Express Red Line service between Union Station and LAX with stops at Chavez/Grand, Hollywood/Vine, Hollywood/Highland, Santa Monica/Wilshire, Century City, Westwood/Santa Monica, and 4th/Santa Monica.



Phase 06:
Pink Line light rail from Van Nuys to UCLA & Westwood via the Sepulveda Pass.



Phase 07:
(a) Extend the Yellow Line from Fairfax/Wilshire to Expo/Crenshaw via San Vicente Blvd.

(b) Extend the Yellow Line from Vermont/Wilshire to Expo/Vermont.



Phase 08:
(a) Extend the Orange Line from Glendale to Burbank

(b) Extend the Orange Rapid Bus route from North Hollywood to Burbank.

(c) Create the Orange Branch Line from Universal City to Ventura/Sepulveda via Ventura Blvd.


Phase 09:
(a) Extend the Yellow Line from Expo/Crenshaw to LAX via Inglewood.

(b) Extend the Yellow Line from Expo/Vermont to Vermont Green Line Station.
